REMINSTALL
Akhter RemInstall allows you to install software across your entire network of computers remotely from one central location. It may be from the server on the network or, via a remote desktop, from a different location anywhere in the world. The software will install the applications you require, subject to license, in a fraction of the time it would take to visit each individual workstation with CDs.

Akhter RemInstall has been designed with the non-technical user in mind. The drag and drop simplicity of RemInstall means that even the least experienced user will be able to take advantage of its powerful features. |
Installation |
When you select "Install" from the user-friendly Windows menu, four windows will appear: |

Self-Healing Software |
The days of having to reinstall a complete application just because a single file was deleted are now over. Applications installed using Akhter RemInstall include a feature that will detect when application files are missing and will reinstall them automatically, without prompting. So, if you accidentally delete a system file, the seamless reinstallation procedure means you won't even know it was lost. |
Akhter Remote Management Service |
In addition to offering the software for direct purchase, Akhter offer a remote management service and will dial in to your network to provide network software installation on a case-by-case basis. This solution is not as fast as using the software locally, but may be more cost effective if you only want occasional use. |
Network Audit Feature |
Audit the software installed with Akhter RemInstall or Microsoft's Windows Installer on your network. This feature of Akhter RemInstall allows you to see the total number of packages installed as well as exactly what software is on each workstation. In addition it will audit the components, so you can see the specification of each workstation, an ideal feature when you want to review the power and features of your network.

Scheduling |
Use Reminstall to schedule when you want the installation to take place. This allows you to make good use of times (eg overnight) when the network is quiet, and minimise interruption to more busy periods. |
Patches |
In addition to loading entire applications, Reminstall can be used to distribute patches and fixes to keep your network fully up to date. |

INSTALL |
1. Available Packages: This shows a list of the programs on the server that are available for distribution across the network. Select the programs you wish to install.
2. Deployment Target: This window lists your networks’ workstations. Select those that you wish to install the software on. Akhter RemInstall will install the software, in turn, on up to 20 workstations simultaneously. Whether or not all workstations are targeted at once, you will only need to give the instruction once.
3. Selected Packages: When you select a program from the “ Available Packages” menu, it will appear here.
4. Install Status: This will show which programs have been installed on which workstations, as well as those that are in the process of being installed.

Uninstall
|
The process to uninstall software is just as straightforward as installing it. The uninstall option displays three windows. Simply select which packages you wish to uninstall in the top left window. Then from the bottom left window, the workstations from which you wish the packages to be uninstalled. Then simply watch the progress in the right-hand window.
